David & Sherry Hubbard

Junction City, Kansas

David and Sherry started square dancing in 1991 and joined the Buckles & Bows, Junction City. They were club officers in 1992, 1993 and 2001, and were elected club Presidents in 1994.

David and Sherry served as a North Central District officer one year. In 1995, they were elected District Chairman. Joining KSDA in June 1991, they were very active members until May 2012, 21 years.

David and Sherry served 4 years as KSDA Officers before becoming KSDA President in 1999-2000. They served 7 years on the KSDA Executive Council. They volunteered to be a Committee Chairman for the State Convention for five years. David and Sherry were the Dancer Coordinators for the 2004 State Convention Committee.

They received the Legacy’s “Circle of Service” in 2002 for their service to square dancing.

Elected as Bid Chairman for the 2008 National Square Dance Convention®, David and Sherry served in that capacity for four years, leading a successful campaign. They served four years as the Chairman of the 57th National Square Dance Convention®, producing an excellent National.

Elected members of the National Executive Committee in 2008, they served as Secretary then President of the National Executive Committee.

Enjoying square dancing tremendously David and Sherry led with insight, compassion and enthusiasm. They took Kansas Square Dancing to the National level. David passed away in January 2013.
