Gordon & Irma Schutt
Wichita, Kansas
Gordon and Irma started square dancing in 1961 and are still dancing. Currently members of Cessquares, Wichita, they were members of the Silver Spurs, Wichita Contralliers Contra Dance Club and Contra Friends, Wichita clubs.
They have served in every club office in The Silver Spurs and Cessquares. Gordon and Irma are members of the South Central League of Square and Round Dance Clubs (The South Kansas League of Clubs). They have served in every League office and continue to faithfully support the fall and spring festivals.
Gordon and Irma were awarded the “Life Time Achievement Award” by the South Central League in 2003 for their service to square dancing. In 1991, they were appointed Editors of Happy Tracks, a square dance magazine published three times a year. They continue to work very hard to make Happy Tracks a nationally recognized magazine.
They are complimentary members of KSDA, faithfully attending Jubilees, membership meetings and conventions.
Gordon & Irma were Assistant Publicity Chairman for the 57th National Square Dance Convention®, have attended 40 National Square Dance Conventions®, and are currently registered for the 63rd NSDC in Little Rock, AR. They are an influential and well respected couple throughout the dancing community.
